NEW YORK YANKEES (36-15)

Jordan Montgomery pitched seven innings, struck out four, and gave up one run to the Angels. Gleyber Torres went 2-for-4. Jose Trevino went 3-for-4 with a home run. Matt Carpenter hit his second home run of the season. The Yankees won 9-1.

Nestor Cortes pitched in the first game of the doubleheader. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out seven. Matt Carpenter hit his third home run of the year. Gleyber Torres went 2-for-4 with a home run. Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 with a home run. Aaron Hicks went 3-for-4. DJ LeMahieu hit his fourth home run of the year. After a one-hour and 28-minute delay before the start of the 9th inning, the Yanks won 6-1.

Jameson Taillon took a perfect game into the 8th inning, gave up one run, and struck out five. Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-3 with a walk. Marwin Gonzalez went 2-for-4. Clay Holmes pitched the 9th and struggled a bit but got the save. The Yanks won 2-1. 

The Tigers come into town for the weekend. Gerrit Cole, Luis Severino, and Jordan Montgomery are scheduled to pitch. It is expected that Giancarlo Stanton returns from the IL.

BOSTON RED SOX (24-27)

Rich Hill pitched four innings, struck out six, and gave up six runs in the series finale against the Orioles. The offense couldn’t get traffic on the bases. Trevor Story went 1-for-2 with a walk. Xander Bogaerts went 1-for-3. Bobby Dalbec went 1-for-1. The Sox lost 10-0.

Michael Wacha pitched 5.2 innings, struck out three, and gave up one unearned run against the Reds. Rafael Devers went 2-for-4. J.D.Martinez went 0-for-3 with a walk. Alex Verdugo went 1-for-4. The Sox lost 2-1.

Garrett Whitlock pitched six innings, had no strikeouts and gave up one unearned run. Verdugo went 2-for-3 with a walk. Jackie Bradley Jr went 2-for-4. The Sox won 7-1.

The Sox start their west coast trip today in Oakland. Nathan Eovaldi, Nick Pivetta, and Rich Hill are scheduled to pitch

TAMPA BAY RAYS (30-21)

Drew Rasmussen pitched three innings, struck out three, and gave up five runs against the Rangers. Wander Franco went 3-for-4 with a walk. Randy Arozarena went 2-for-4. Isaac Paredes went 2-for-4. The Rays lost 9-5.

Ryan Yarbrough pitched 6.2 innings, struck out three, and gave up three runs. Yandy Diaz went 1-for-4. Francisco Mejia went 1-for-3. Taylor Walls went 1-for-3. The Rays lost 3-0. 

Jeffrey Springs pitched five innings, struck out seven, and gave up two runs. Randy Arozarena hit his 5th home run of the year. Ji-Man Choi went 1-for-4 with a walk. The Rays won in extra innings 4-3.

Corey Kluber pitched six innings, struck out four, and gave up one run. Manuel Margot went 2-for-3 with two walks. Harold Ramirez went 2-for-5. Yandy Diaz went 2-for-4. The Rays won 3-1.

The Rays return home to play against the White Sox. Shane McClanahan and Drew Rasmussen are scheduled to pitch.

TORONTO BLUE JAYS (30-20)

Kevin Gausman pitched five innings, struck out five, and gave up three runs against the White Sox. Alejandro Kirk went 3-for-4 with two home runs. Teoscar Hernandez went 2-for-4. The Jays won 6-5. 

Hyun Jin Ryu pitched four innings, struck out four, and gave up three runs; two earned. Vladimir Guerrero Jr went 2-for-5 with a home run. Hernandez went 2-for-3 with two walks. Raimel Tapia went 2-for-3. Danny Jansen and Santiago Espinal each hit a home run. The Jays won 7-3.

Alek Manoah pitched 7.2 innings, struck out five, and gave up three runs. Hernandez went 2-for-5 with a home run. Santiago Espinal went 3-for-5. Alejandro Kirk went 2-for-3 with a walk. The Jays won 8-3. 

The Twins come to town for the weekend. Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, and Kevin Gausman are scheduled to pitch. 

BALTIMORE ORIOLES (22-31)

Tyler Wells pitched six scoreless innings and struck out three against the Red Sox. Ryan Mountcastle went 4-for-5 with a home run. Ramon Urias and Anthony Santander each hit a home run as well. Trey Mancini went 3-for-4 with a walk. The O’s won 10-0.

Bryan Baker pitched 1.1 innings, struck out one, and gave up three runs against the Mariners. Santander went 2-for-4. Austin Hays went 1-for-3 with a walk. Jorge Mateo went 1-for-3. The O’s lost 10-0. 

Kyle Bradish pitched 4.2 innings, struck out six, and gave up two runs. Rougned Odor hit his 5th home run. Ryan Mountcastle went 1-for-2 with two walks and a home run. Hays went 1-for-2 with two walks. Mancini went 2-for-4 with a home run. Santander went 2-for-4. Ramon Urias hit his 5th home run of the year. The O’s won 9-2.

Jordan Lyles pitched five innings, struck out three, and gave up five runs; four earned. Hays went 2-for-5. Cedric Mullins went 2-for-4 with a walk. The O’s lost 7-6.

The Guardians are in town for the weekend. Bruce Zimmermann and Tyler Wells are scheduled to pitch.
