I’m sick to death of the curbside pickup CBA talks between the players union and MLB aren’t you ? So let’s dive into one of the biggest names in Free Agency. Carlos Correa shall we?

According to the experts at MLB Trade Rumors Correa is looking at a ten year 327 million dollar deal once these asshats dot their I’s and cross their T’s. Well I’m here to tell you he isn’t getting a dime of my overpriced bud light money. The man is simply overrated. Yes yes. I know. WAR . And you all know how much I love defense. A Gold and  Platinum glove Correa does possess. But to commit north of THREE HUNDRED million dollars to this man just doesn’t make cents.

The Astros drafted Correa in 2012. In 2915 he made his MLB debut and promptly took the ROTY award. In 2016 he did everything to back up that award. By 2017 he was an All Star. It’s after that 2017 season that I and many other learned professionals (Not all but Many) take umbrage at inking Carlos to this kind of long term deal.

My Man Milliken just called me a liar

Since 2016 Correa has played more than 110 games just once. Before last season’s healthy walk year. Even with last years coming to work every day, surprise: he is averaging 98 games per season since his sophomore year. Back injuries and a bad opposable thumb plus cracked ribs have limited him and his amazing glove from helping his team on an everyday basis. then there is the moving of Bogaerts and / or Devers. Who’s on first? what’s on Second? I dont know third base” Is this the way to go ? I think not.

With the demands of his position and the track record of back issues I don’t see Correa coming close to finishing his career at Short. And even at a 162 game average his bat doesn’t quantify a move to either corner in a few years. Then there’s that whole nothing to see here sign stealing scandal in which he basically took no accountability for his or his team’s actions.

In conclusion

Yes we know what time it is here in Boston. And i hope the Red Sox stay as far away as possible from Mr. Correa. As always you can follow / give me grief on Twitter @Tmurph297
