Akers had tremendous value in both Standard and PPR leagues heading into the 2021 season with new signal-caller Matthew Stafford, the outlook for his production took a considerable jump. That move along with his late-season production had him firmly in the top 25 in most preseason drafts. Darrell Henderson should slip into the starting role but Raymond Calais and UDFA Otis Anderson will compete for time in the Rams backfield heading into the 2021 season.
This is devastating news for Akers, the Rams, and their fanbase. As for Fantasy purposes? Henderson is the choice you want to make if you are drafting early this season. Henderson was the top back in the NFL through the first eight weeks of last season according to PFF.
