• Star point guard Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers are putting the finishing touches on a 2-year extension worth $122 million. Lillard will be under contract with Portland through the 2026-2027 season.


  • James Harden, former MVP, plans to re-sign with the Philadelphia 76er’s on a 2-year deal. The deal will have Harden taking a $15 million pay cut this season and will have a player option in the 2nd season.


  • The New York Knicks have waived center Taj Gibson and in turn are saving $5.1 million against the salary cap. Gibson was set to enter the 2nd year of his 2-year contract with New York. Several other teams have expressed interest in Gibson but he is expected to sign with the Washington Wizards upon clearing waivers.




  • 17 year veteran defensemen for the Edmonton Oilers, Duncan Keith, has decided to lay down his stick. The 38-year-old finished his career with 646 points over 1,256 games and contributed 91 points in 151 post season performances.


  • Goaltender Ville Husso was shipped from the St. Louis Blues to the Detroit Red Wings in return for the 73rd pick in the 2022 draft. Husso, a pending unrestricted free-agent, has reportedly signed a 3-year contract with the Red Wings that carries a $4.75 million yearly value.


  • The Florida Panthers signed forward Eetu Luostarinen to a 2-year contract extension on Friday. The deal holds an AAV of $1.5 million. Luostarinen was a pending restricted free agent.
