With the NBA season now over, the Golden State Warriors won their fourth NBA title in eight years. They defeated the Boston Celtics in six games to do so. They both built their teams through the NBA Draft and got rewarded because of it. There has not been a repeat NBA Champion in the past five years. The Golden State Warriors in 2017 and in 2018 were the last teams to do so in the NBA. Which NBA teams via FanDuel sportsbook has the best odds to win the 2022-2023 NBA Championship?
Golden State Warriors +550
To no surprise, the Golden State Warriors will be the favorites once again to repeat as NBA Champions. The thing is that the core of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green are getting older and their health can’t be relied upon at times. They do have some building blocks moving forward into the future like Jordan Poole, Moses Moody, Jonathan Kuminga, and James Wiseman. Will see what general manager Bob Myers decides to do with Andrew Wiggins.
Head Coach Steve Kerr has done a lot of good work for this basketball team. They were the third seed in the Western Conference last season.
Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics +600
The Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics both have the second-best odds to win the 2023 NBA Championship. These were the best two teams it felt like in the East a season ago. They both met in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Milwaukee if healthy might be the team to beat though. Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best player in the world. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday are a great 2-3 punch for head coach Mike Budenholzer.
They will tweak the bench this offseason. They are still a great bet to win it all next year though.
As for Boston, Jayson Tatum is not a number one and maybe they hit their ceiling. Jaylen Brown is very good. Robert Williams III is a solid rim protector and Marcus Smart is a valuable defender on this basketball team. Head coach Ime Udoka preached defense on this basketball team from day one.
Grant Williams, Payton Prichard, and the rest of the bench will have to improve this offseason.
Los Angeles Clippers +650
The Los Angeles Clippers will be loaded this season if everyone can stay healthy under head coach Tyronn Lue. Los Angeles just missed out on the eighth seed in the Western Conference last season because of injuries. They also lost two play-in tournament games. The Clippers should have Paul George and Kawhi Leonard back at full strength.
The Clippers also have a very solid bench rotation. Terrance Mann, Reggie Jackson, Ivica Zubac, and Niclas Batum are some very good players on this roster also. The Los Angeles Clippers could be a top-three seed in the Western Conference next season though.
