At the end of 2021, five wrestlers in Japan left their home promotion, wanting to journey on a new, unique path. All five were talents who had well-established themselves in the promotion that they previously called home, Ice Ribbon:

Risa Sera: 2-time former ICExInfinity Champion (the top singles championship in the company), with her second reign being the second-longest in the history of the championship.

Hiragi Kurumi: Also a 2-time former ICExInfinity Champion.

Suzu Suzuki: A former ICExInfinity Champion

Mochi Natsumi: A 4-time former International Ribbon Tag Team Champion, with her third reign being the seventh-longest reign in the history of the championship.

Akane Fujita: A former Triangle Ribbon Champion and the current FantastICE Champion.

Not only did they want to be a unit, but they also wanted to produce their own shows, which was something that Risa Sera had experience doing. With Sera as the leader of the unit, the decision was made to name themselves and their shows, “Prominence”.

In astronomy, prominence is a large, bright gas that shines outward from the Sun’s corona.

That is what Risa Sera wants their unit and shows to be: something that shines out of the corona pandemic. And Prominence has been exactly that.

Making its debut as a unit this year, Prominence has made its presence known in many top promotions, including Stardom, WAVE, DDT, and Sendai Girls, battling the talents on the rosters of the respective companies with an aggressive hardcore style, breathing new life and excitement into every company’s shows that they appear on.

Simultaneously, Prominence has been producing their own shows. Pre-launch events included, Prominence has had 7 shows total so far, in Tokyo and Osaka. Their shows focus on the hardcore style, but also feature skilled wrestling and moments of comedy. And along with the members of the Prominence unit, their shows also feature other freelance wrestlers and talent from the promotions they have appeared in, such as former Sendai Girls Tag Team Champion DASH Chisako and current WAVE Tag Team Champion Yuki Miyazaki. With everything that Prominence offers, it has the potential to appeal to a variety of pro-wrestling fans.

The next Prominence show will take place on July 17 at Shinkiba 1st Ring in Tokyo with a 6:00 pm start time.

The card will be as follows:
