  • First playoff game on Sunday was game 1 of the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat series. The Heat easily walked away with the win 115-91. Duncan Robinson led the way for Miami hitting 8 out of 9 of his 3 point attempts, he scored 27 points.

  • Next up was the wild ride that the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics took us on. It was a dog fight that found Jayson Tatum coming through with a beautiful layup with less then 1 second on the clock to put the Celtics up over the Nets 115-114. Jayson Tatum was the leading scorer for Boston with 31 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Kyrie Irving led the Nets with 39 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals and 1 block.

  • The Milwaukee Bucks and the Chicago Bulls met in the 3rd game of the day. After blowing a 16 point lead the Bucks managed to hold on and win 93-86 over the Bulls. Giannis Antetokounmpo was on top for the Bucks with 27 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks.

  •  Closing out the games for the day was the Phoenix Suns and the New Orleans Pelicans. Chris Paul had a spectacular fourth quarter, scoring 19 of his 30 points. The top-seeded Suns beat the Pelicans 110-99.

MLB

  • Ronald Acuna Jr., star outfielder for the Atlanta Braves that tore his ACL last July, is reportedly beginning his rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday. The Braves are hoping for a May 6th return for Acuna.

 

  • Los Angeles Angels center fielder, three-time American League MVP Mike Trout, left Sundays game against the Texas Rangers in the 5th-inning after being hit in the left hand by a 81-mph slider from Texas pitcher Spencer Patton’s. He is being listed as day-to-day right now. Angels beat the Rangers 8-3.

 

  • The Boston Red Sox will be missing a few players when they go to Toronto for their 4 game series due to them being unvaccinated. The Canadian government requires a person must be fully vaccinated 14 days prior to entering the country.

 

  • Chicago Cubs 27-year-old outfielder, Seiya Suzuki is having a spectacular start to his major league career. Suzuki hit his 4th home run Sunday in the Cubs win over the Colorado Rockies 6-4. He is batting .400 and has hit safely in 8 straight games with an at-bat, he has reached the bases in all 9 games with Chicago.

 

 

NHL

  • The Florida Panthers continue their streak with win No. 10 in a row. The Panthers win handedly over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday 6-1. Anton Lundell led Florida with 2 goals. Anthony Duclair, Sam Reinhart, Maxim Mamin and Gustav Forsling also scored for the Panthers.

 

  • The Toronto Maple Leafs set a couple new records for the franchise on Sunday during their 4-2 win over the New York Islanders. They set a new regular season standard for most points scored with 106 and wins with 50. They still have 6 regular season games left to add to their totals.

 

  • The St. Louis Blues score a franchise record 7 goals in the 2nd period of Sundays game to beat the Nashville Predators 8-3. The playoff bound Blues have won 9 straight.
