• The Denver Broncos and Russell Wilson have come to an agreement on a 5-year extension that will keep him in Denver through the 2028 season. The contract is reportedly worth $245 million with $165 guaranteed.


  • Tennessee Titans pass-rusher Harold Landry is anticipated to miss the entirety of the 2022 season after suffering a torn ACL during Wednesday’s practice. Landry signed a 5-year $87.5 million contract during this past off season.


  •  New Orleans Saints safety Marcus Maye was arrested on Thursday in what police are saying was a “road rage incident”. He was booked on 1 count of aggravated assault with a firearm.




  • The Cleveland Cavaliers have picked up All-Star Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz. In return Utah will receive Lauri Markkanen, Collin Sexton, Ochai Agbaji, 3 unprotected 1st-round picks in 2025, 2027 and 2029, and 2 pick swaps in 2026 and 2028.


  • The Houston Rockets team owner Tilman Fertitta announced  that they will retire Elvin Hayes’ No. 44 at halftime of their game against the Indiana Pacers on Nov. 18.


  • The Toronto Raptors have signed forward Josh Jackson. The contract is reportedly non-guaranteed.




  • Spencer Strider broke John Smoltz’s 1992 record for strikeouts in a single game for the Atlanta Braves. Strider handed out 16 strikeouts in 8 innings. Atlanta beat the Colorado Rockies 3-0 on Thursday.


  • Major League Baseball suspended free agent pitcher Carlos Martinez for 85 games after he violated MLB’s joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy. The suspension is retro-active to June 19th. The 30-year-old was also suspended for 80 games in May siting minor league baseballs drug program. He tested positive for the performance-enhancing substance Ibutamoren.


  • The New York Yankees have called up infielder prospect Oswald Peraza. The shortstop ranks 53rd on the all inclusive list of prospects. The 22-year-old is well known for his speed and defensive ability.
